About Me

Emily Wilkinson — Clinical Psychologist, MAPS, FCCLP

I’ve had the privilege of working with many individuals, including parents and parents-to-be who have experienced major challenges. From adjusting to fertility difficulties, to life with a new baby, to returning to work after time away, to parenting children at different ages and stages, these changes can be overwhelming.

I’ve worked with parents who have struggled with sleepless nights, anxiety, self-blame, and exhaustion. We want things to go smoothly during times of transition, but it is important to acknowledge that these times are often unpredictable and difficult to navigate. We can easily slip into self-criticism and self-doubt when things don't go according to plan.

Parents and those in the perinatal period often struggle in silence, believing nothing can change. We might blame ourselves or feel embarrassed about parenting challenges, which only makes things worse. But it doesn't have to be this way. Help and hope are available.

So, whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression or lowered mood, parenting, the pre or postnatal periods, grief and loss, family relationships, dealing with the effects of trauma, significant life changes or other difficulties, I'm here to listen, and help you manage difficult feelings while we work on your goals together.

I will use evidence-based techniques to help reduce your symptoms, improve your close relationships — including with your children if you're a parent — and help you and your family thrive.

If you would like guidance and support to make positive changes to benefit you and your family, please get in touch. I look forward to talking to you!
